July 6th- 32+ weeks Dr's Appt

Matt and I were in Indy this past weekend visiting Matt's family for the 4th of July. So I am without a picture to post of the belly shot! Although, my talented photographer and friend Jessie did take maternity pictures for us while we were back in Indiana...so technically I will have many pictures! Just not yet. I will have post the link when she has them up on her blog. Here is Jessie and I after the big photo shoot:

And here's a picture of the six of us at the IMA (Indianapolis Museum of Art).

I had a doctor's appointment the day after we got back from Indy. Dr. Shelton thinks everything still looks great and he says "life has been good to me" in terms of pregnancy. I weghed in at 159 at the office. I did ask him on this visit what he thought the gender was. He says a boy...although he calls it "just a guess". My nurse, Anna Marie, feels the same way.

In spite of all of this, I am continuing to read "Bringing Up Girls" by Dr. Dobson. I love this book and have been waiting for him to come out with it. Did you know that a girl's self-esteem and confidence is directly linked to her relationship with her dad? While moms do play an important part in the life of a girl, the father-daughter relationship is much more crucial in the development of who she feels she is as a woman. I have already read "Bringing Up Boys" back in my days at Focus on the Family Institute and I found it equally intriguing.

I'm starting to getting more uncomfortable as I am getting bigger. I still sleep pretty well with about 4 pillows but sitting feels more uncomfortable. Working out regularly is helping a lot with my energy. And it makes great locker room talk going to the gym this far a long. Women make random comments to me when I am changing! Pregnancy bring about all sorts of things you don't normally encounter...like random people touching your belly. But I don't mind, it is a happy subject that people like to talk about...so why not? I still don't have any great reasons to complain though. This has been a relatively easy pregnancy so far!

June 23rd-MD Appt

Doctor's appointments are every other week now! So I feel like I am going all of the time. Nothing of significance to report. Everything is still looking great! Dr. Shelton is very pleased with how everything is going. I forgot to pre-register at the hospital this week. I need to get that done next week so we can go get our tour of the labor and delivery rooms!

I weighed in at 154.4 this week. Actually less than last week! Not much though.

Over the weekend Matt and I went to Denver for an overnight getaway. We know our days of this are coming to an end so we thought we should take advantage of it. We love booking the $38 rooms on Priceline.com. It was just what we needed! I took my new Ipod- birthday gift courtesy of my generous in laws. And the portable speaker that Matt got me to go with it.

The babe loves it! :)

Matt brought his stethoscope so we could listen to the baby's heartbeat. I couldn't find it.

But he found it and then passed it off to me. It was so cool! Baby Witt's heartbeat was 155 according to Matt.

Sometimes I don't think we should spend the money to take these types of trips...especially when we are having car issues every other day, insurance goes up and rent goes up. But, this is what date money is for and ultimately, it was exactly what we needed. So I am glad to have listened to my husband on this one! We slept in until 10am!

My parents were here for most of the week. Dad and I try to be together for our birthdays on June 15th as much as possible! It was fun to be with them for a few days, and I miss them already! Here are pictures from our birthday:

Dad & Mom brought this cute little monkey/security blanket for the baby! Isn't he adorable? I just love it. I think it might be in the baby's favorite...but then again, I'm the one that is partial to monkeys!

Mom and I also shopped for a boy and girl outfit to take the baby home from the hospital in. I couldn't find anything I loved, so I am going to keep looking. But we did buy these cute onesies!

We found a box for on top of the changing table too to put lotion and wipes in. I didn't snap a picture of that though. Things are coming together!

This Doctor's appointment I got to take the glucose screening test to see if I have gestational diabetes. I wasn't looking forward to this as I was told the stuff you drink is nasty. But not the case at all! Mine was orange flavored, and I gulped it down! The results came back the following week and Anna Marie, my nurse, told me I passed with flying colors. I was 64 when she said over 130 would be a problem. She told me go eat some ice cream! This was on my birthday on the 15th...so that worked out great. :)

Things are still looking good. The baby's heart rate was around 140 and I am going to be going to the doctor's every other week now. The time is flying by!

It was a GORGEOUS day out so we went over to the pool for an hour and a half to relax. Check out my bag that says "Mom in Training" and my snazzy way-oversized white sunglasses. I got these at Motherhood Maternity for making a purchase. Oh the perks of pregnancy! ha ha.

And now for the EXCITING news!!! The recliner came in on Saturday!

Trying it out for size. It is very comfortable! We are hoping this helps with the late nights. Thanks to my fabulous husband for getting me this chair! (He is benefiting too...he already has taken a nap on it!)
