April 25th-22 Weeks

22 Weeks! After consulting both of my baby books, the internet, and my nurse...I am thoroughly confused as to what month I am exactly. So that is why I continue to post what week I am in...not the month. I am somewhere between 5 and 6 months, but where I land specifically depends on who you talk to!

I know some of you are thinking, "who cares?", but it really does drive me crazy at the lack of consistency of calculating where our baby is in their growth! But oh well. On to the what you really care about...the pictures!

22 Weeks and a different shirt. The green one was getting too small...and though I bought a size up planning for my expansion, it went up in size in all of the wrong places! So here is a new look:

I weighed in at 142.2 this morning.

And because I insisted on a nice photo so I could shake that image out of my head!

Matt and I decided to go out after work since we both had energy and we probably won't get to do this very often in the months ahead!
Photobucket
We went out to eat and rented a movie from Red Box. I love it when we drag the TV back to our room and watch it in bed! It's the simple things in life, isn't it? :)

Anyway, we snapped just a couple pictures of me as I knew my getting-larger-by-the-day belly would make you all happy. Especially since it was not disguised at all! From the front it is harder to see..
Photobucket

But not as hard from the side!

Another marketing friend of mind in Colorado Springs gave me a few boxes of maternity clothes and in it I found this shirt. I am certain it is not maternity at all, but it works well! I seem to do a lot better with non-maternity wear anyway!

April 14th-2nd Trimester Ultrasound

We had our 20 week ultrasound this morning. We got up, I filled my bladder, snapped a picture before leaving and headed to the doctor's office!

My doctor's office is located in Sisters Grove Pavilion.

Sisters Grove Pavilion is attached to the hospital where we will welcome this new life into our lives. The hospital is called St. Francis Medical Center.

On my way into Sisters Grove Pavilion to the 3rd floor where Dr. Shelton's office is...Associates in Women's Care.

We had a really great visit and ultrasound. And we didn't succumb to the temptation of finding out the gender! In fact, when we told the ultrasound tech that we wanted to wait to be surprised she didn't even zoom in to find out because she said she didn't want to let it slip! But everything looks great. Baby Jeopardy is developing well and on schedule. It is so amazing to see this little life up on the screen and know that it is living and growing inside of me. I just can't believe the baby has everything now that it will have when he/she is born. It will just continue to grow and develop until delivery.

Matt really enjoyed it also and was able to figure out what we were looking at throughout. I, on the other hand, had to be walked through the whole thing! Matt was so sweet and held my hand throughout.

Here is one of the profile pictures of our bundle of joy:

The baby is weighing/measuring in at 21 1/2 weeks. Baby Jeopardy is a full pound! So a little bit bigger than where we actually are.

After the ultrasound Dr. Shelton met with us and Matt got to hear the heartbeat for the first time. The heartbeat was 150 when he took it and it was 143 during the ultrasound. Then Dr. Shelton de-programmed me from all of the crazy opinions and advice I get all week long about pregnancy and having babies! ha ha. He is so laid back and Matt and I love this in him. Anna Marie, his nurse, is awesome as well. She brings the excitement and fun. She is convinced we are having a boy now. I reminded her that last visit she was convinced it was a girl...but she claims now that she can actually see some growth in my belly she thinks it is a boy! She is hilarious.

She also weighs me in every visit and claims I have gained 12 pounds so far. 8 of them coming from just the last 5 weeks! She says I am still smaller for 20 weeks but that it is not a bad thing at all. She claims that I will weigh less after having the baby then before I was pregnant. Another prediction she decided to make. We feel blessed by this MD/RN team!

A few more pictures for your viewing pleasure from this evening after work.

Halfway there!!!!!

20 Weeks this week. Hard to believe...but it's true!

I think I'm growing by the day now, but I'll let you be the judge of that:
Photobucket
I weighed in at 139.8

My weekly email tells me Baby Jeopardy is the length of a banana this week. 10.5 ounces and 6.5 inches long. And for the sake of comparison...I will show my 9 week belly pic and a 20 week belly pic that you haven't seen before:

Such a humbling experience for your body to grow like this!

Wow! So crazy...I just got TWO very strong kicks in my belly! At least the strongest I have ever felt anyway. This is usually the time of day I can feel movement...at night, when I am laying in bed. I can imagine it only gets more noticeable! Our ultrasound is this Wednesday morning when we will be able to see a lot more of what is going on in there. And when we could find out the gender if we wanted to. But that is not our plan! So we are looking forward to that appointment. Except for me having to drink a ton of water before the appointment 45 minutes ahead of time...and holding it!

Until next time!

Oh wait! Baby J keeps kicking...and Matt just felt a kick for the first time! I figured the kicking would stop when he put his hand on my belly. But nope...he just got booted! :) ha ha. So fun.

We went over to our friends house, Gary & Allison's, with some others for Easter brunch after church. Very delicious!

Matt and I stopped on the way home from church to attempt an Easter shot. The camera was balanced on the car and it was pretty sunny...but you get the idea!

Also, this past week our crib bedding came in! We ordered it from Wal-Mart. And I think I love it. It is called Serenity-this is totally me. And should be calming for Baby Jeopardy also! Check it out on Wal-Mart.com here. Oh yeah, did I mention it was a great price compared to others?

It is a very difficult color to match. It is not blue, it's not even quite turquoise as it almost has a hint of green in the color. So I am not trying to match a lot of blues with it...because it would just be more frustrating to have mismatched blues all over the room. But I am glad to have a starting place on the colors for the room. I also ordered a second crib sheet, diaper bag, and a valance. I intend to some how attach the valance onto the front of our desk to hide the keyboard tray and bring more of the brown and blue to the wall in the room that the desk will be on...as the desk will become our changing table! Don't worry, it will make sense later! And also, we found two brown canvas bins with a cover at TJ Maxx that are outlined in a very similar blue color. These will go under the desk...where you would normally find a chair almost meeting up with the valance. A great place to store extra diapers!

So here is a picture of the crib bedding laying on our futon. In front of the blanket, from left to right is the sheet, the bed skirt, and then the bumper is in the bag.

I'm not sure that this picture captured the color very well, but it is the best I could do with the lighting.

And check this out! The colors of the burp clothes that Jessie made coordinate very well! I wanted to see how pink would work as an accent if we ended up with a girl. I decided that I like it!
