May 12th- 6 month Dr's Appointment

This month's doctor's appointment was Wednesday afternoon. Matt got to come with me and did not have to stay at work late to make up for it! He loves the flexibility of his new job. I like it too :)

Nothing out of the ordinary at this appointment. We listened to the heartbeat and chatted with Dr. Shelton for awhile. Everything is still looking great. He is happy with my progress and is not worried about my rapid weight gain! I was afraid I was going to be in trouble! I'm not sure why...he is not like that at all!

Mother's Day Card from my Parents

Here is the cute Mother's Day card I got from my parents:

When I received it in the mail, I thought, "I wonder if my mom was trying to match the color of the baby's nursery?" I don't know why I even thought that was a question! ha ha. She told me later she didn't care much what the card said once she got the color right. Like Mother, like daughter. At least I come by my craziness honestly! Want to see how you did, Mom?

Not too shabby at all! I am very impressed. Because that has got to be one of the hardest colors to match of all time. But I did pick up some paint samples to send out to you and Grandma Berry as you requested!

May 9th-24 Weeks-Mother's Day!

So I wake up on Sunday morning and find a sweet email from Age wishing me:

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!! Enjoy your first mother's day. Love you.

That's right! It's Mother's Day. Well, Matt has been telling me all week that I'm not a mom yet so we didn't need to celebrate so of course I point out to him that Age thought I was a mom! ha ha. He didn't say anything and we got up and showered to get ready for church. Then, I go the kitchen to have some breakfast and look what I find on the table!

He had completely fooled me. I ate my words...he had planned this all along. Here is what was inside:

A pedicure and manicure! Woo-hoo! I will especially need this when I can no longer reach my toes! He made the certificate himself and it says "Authorized by: Matt and Baby Jeopardy" So cute. He told me instead of a gift certificate for one place he figured he should make his own and then give me the cash because "he knows me". Am I really that bad? Yes, I am. He does know me! But I am really looking forward to this sweet mother's day gift. Thanks, Babe!

And on to the 24 week pictures-6 months. Growing very steadily!

May 7th-New Crib

Our new crib came in at Babies 'R Us! Thanks Grandpa & Grandma Johnson for this awesome gift that will last a LONG time. The crib converts into a toddler bed and then as a headboard for a full. It matches perfectly with the furniture we already have in the baby's room. It was exactly what I wanted so I'm very excited about it.

We went to pick up the crib on Friday night. Our generous friends Dale & Michael let us borrow their truck to pick it up. They are actually trying to sell it so we gave them a little advertising by driving it around. In fact, we talked to two guys that were interested and told them to call Michael! Matt was trying to really talk the truck up so we hope it is a good lead for Michael and Dale. Here is Matt loading the crib onto the truck.

Matt put it together on Friday night also.

Can you see the computer sitting on the futon with the Spurs game on? I set it up for him so we could watch while he was working! However, he ended up turning it off...they were disappointing him a bit.

And the finished product!

So, the crib is up and we are out of room. I find myself wanting to move the futon on out ASAP so I can begin to envision our baby's nursery! So I posted the futon on Craig's list that same night. It is time to sell it because we don't have room for it anymore but I am a little sad as this is the futon that my Pap & Gram Berry bought me my sophomore year of college. It has had a good 7 years! And doesn't it look great?

The family that bought it on Sunday thought so too! We got 100 bucks for it which was so exciting. I love selling things on Craig's List and walking away with cash for something you are ready to get rid of.

That night we went to Babies 'R Us to spend the cash. We purchased a mattress for the crib, a changing pad for on the desk and a changing pad cover...plus we have money left to spare! I haven't taken picture of the progress of the nursery yet or the crib with the bedding, but they will come!

A few more cards in the mail...
One from Rosie (on the left) and from Uncle Bill & Aunt Sandy

A gift from Dee, a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant that Matt worked with at Colonial Columns. His last day at Colonial was April 28th and then he came over to work for Encompass Home Health! It was so sweet of her to give us this gift!

So many things that I wouldn't have even realized I needed because I haven't done this before! Travel-sized lotions and all. Loved it.

A resident at Colonial Columns who cannot speak, communicates with others by typing on her own machine. She gave this note to Matt before he left:

It says, "I hear tomorrow is your last day. U know U are making some of the girls cry. I won't tell your wife. Just tell her I said congratulations to U both on your upcoming family. Wish you well."
Isn't that sweet? I'm sure he did make some of the ladies cry!!!

And we got a package in the mail from Rosie:

Onesies for 3 months! So great because I think we have newborn onesies covered by Grandma Witt alone :) Thanks, Mark & Rosie!

And from our dear Nicole-a creative package of gems

I'm so glad that we don't have to search for a name any longer!

And these hilarious vintage cards. She asked us to please disregard the names printed on the inside. For Matt:

May 2- 23 Weeks

Well, I have another post I need to make of a package we got from Nicole last week...but I still haven't snapped any pictures of it yet. You all will enjoy it. It was hilarious and thoughtful. I was waiting to post the 23 week shot until I got this done, but due to increased pressure to get this one up...your 23 week belly shot! :)
Photobucket
I weighed in at 146.6. If I don't slow down on the weight gain soon...I'm really going to be in trouble come August!

We went to Keystone with our small group this past weekend so we snapped this when we got back! Okay, Mom W. I'm ready to see some graduation pictures now! :)
